A cybersecurity manager plays a key role in protecting the organization against cyber threats, with responsibilities based on the provisions of Act No. 69/2018 Coll. on Cybersecurity. Main responsibilities of a cybersecurity manager:
1. Development and implementation of a cybersecurity strategy:
- Plans, manages, and implements a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy for the organization in accordance with legal requirements.
- Ensures alignment of security measures with business goals and legislation.
2. Risk assessment and implementation of security measures:
- Identifies and analyzes security risks within the organization’s systems.
- Implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to eliminate identified risks.
3. Response to cybersecurity incidents:
- Responsible for preparing and regularly updating incident response plans.
- Manages the resolution of cybersecurity incidents and analyzes their course.
- Coordinates preventive actions to avoid recurrence of incidents.
4. Employee training and awareness building:
- Organizes cybersecurity training and workshops in line with requirements for increasing employee expertise.
- Creates a security-focused culture within the organization.
5. Monitoring and reporting:
- Ensures continuous monitoring of security systems and event analysis.
- Prepares regular cybersecurity status reports for management and regulatory authorities.
6. Third-party security management:
- Assesses risks related to suppliers, outsourcing, and cloud solutions.
- Ensures that vendors comply with the organization’s security standards.
7. Compliance with legislation and audits:
- Oversees compliance with Act No. 69/2018 Coll. and other relevant standards.
- Prepares the organization for security audits and ensures successful completion.
8. Crisis management:
- Leads the organization through major cybersecurity incidents and coordinates communication with affected parties, including the media and regulatory authorities.
